Kevin Barr is a health system executive experienced in operations, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, ambulatory care, medical office building development, physician partnerships, joint ventures, facility startups, and board formation.

He is known for his ability to develop and translate strategies into company growth and operational performance. With a strong background in operations, consulting, and leadership development, he is able to lead teams and boards to consistent and sustainable performance results.

He served as Senior Vice President for a $3.5 billion, 24,000 employee Catholic health system where responsibilities included strategic finance, capital projects, and integration activities contributing to system-wide growth and performance. He served as an operating executive for various hospital functions, ambulatory care facilities, and medical groups.

He has experience in planning, developing, constructing, and managing facilities offering diagnostic testing, outpatient imaging, wound care (including HBO therapy), radiation therapy, emergency care (hospital and free-standing), urgent care, free-standing ambulatory surgery, clinical laboratory testing, sleep medicine, assisted living care, and retail pharmacy.

  • Served as CFO for a healthcare system with acute, rehab, occupational health, outpatient, urgent/emergency, home care, hospice, senior living, and physician practice operations 

  • Advised partners, management leaders, and governing boards of medical practice groups, healthcare systems, and hospitals regarding operations, strategy, and equity partnerships

  • Served as CEO for a statewide ambulatory care division

  • Served as executive director for medical group operations for a hospital-based system

  • Served as executive vice president for a taxable for-profit division within a regional health system

  • Advised an operational optimization team evaluating a merger plan for two multi-hospital systems

  • Prepared an operations transition plan for a hospital returning to independent operating control

  • Led preparation/presentation of various Certificate of Public Need (COPN) projects for hospitals and physician groups (e.g., MRI, CT, radiation therapy, ASC, cardiac surgery, et al.)

  • Planned, led construction of, and managed various medical practice offices, free-standing emergency centers, urgent care centers, and free-standing ASCs

  • Organized, established, and operated taxable for-profit subsidiaries within a regional health system

  • Organized, built, and managed a multispecialty medical group of physicians and advance practice clinicians
