Cindy Watts is a policy economist with broad experience in health care policy and strategy, measurement and evaluation, and issues of sustainability in the health care industry.
She is known for her clear and critical thinking, her ability to combine long term needs with short term actions, and her ability to present complicated concepts in understandable language. She is a skillful strategic analyst and a passionate speaker, known for stimulating creative thinking and innovative ideas.
Cindy served on the faculty of the University of Washington Department of Health Services for more than three decades before joining the faculty of Virginia Commonwealth University as the chair of the Department of Health Administration. She served as the Richard M. Bracken Chair and Chairman for nine years followed by another two years as the Sentra Professor of Health Administration. During her academic career, she has taught health economics, health care policy, and health care strategy to masters and PhD students, including mid-career executives. She currently teaches undergraduate courses in health economics and climate change, health, and health care as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Richmond.
